Your agent says hello first, tells every visitor it is an AI and speaks with the voice you choose. Here is how to hear the voices, pick one and give it a first line.
Open the Voice shelf
- Sign in and open the Studio.
- Choose Look and voice for your agent. The Voice shelf sits beside the looks.
- Its tabs are NetShow (marked default), Google, Grok (marked edgier) and Open source. A fifth, Your own voice, appears only when your administrator turns it on.
The shelf needs three switches, which your administrator turns on: studio_look_panel, studio_voice_shelf and voice_sample_cache. While one is off, the page shows the older voice list and your agent keeps its default voice.
Hear it before you pick
Each voice is a card with a few words about it, such as warm or clear. Press Hear it to play a short Sample in your agent's own words. A sample is made once and kept, so play it as often as you like. It only plays on the shelf: your live agent speaks every reply live, never a recording.
Where the Studio's start page is turned on, someone not signed in can try the same shelf. They hear NetShow's own words, and choosing a voice asks them to sign up first.
Pick one
- Press Use this voice. Its button changes to Picked, and the shelf says "Saved. Changes apply from the next reply."
- Read Speaking now under the tabs: the voice your agent speaks with right now. If a paid pick is not ready, your agent keeps the NetShow voice and this line says why.
Mrs. NetShow speaks with Marin and Mr. NetShow with Cedar. Every voice goes through NetShow's own voice connection, never your browser's built-in voice. To compare providers, see a price or set a daily limit, read Choose your agent's voice provider; to pay with your own account, read Use your own voice key.
The first thing it says
New here? Accounts open soon. Try the Studio now.
- Open your agents (sign in) and choose the wand button titled Unified Editor.
- Open Personality, turn on Enable Welcome Message, write the line and press Save.
A good first line is short, says who is talking and asks one easy question:
Hi, I'm Maya, the AI assistant for Riverside Dental. Are you booking a visit or asking about one?
A visitor is always asked for the microphone first, and one who says no can still type.
When it talks over people, or waits too long
In the editor, Channels then Realtime decides when a visitor has finished speaking. If your agent jumps in too early, raise Silence Duration (ms). Noise Reduction helps in busy rooms, with a far-field setting for speakerphones. The defaults suit most agents.
Phone calls
A phone number is assigned on Voice & Phone Setup (sign in). In the editor, the Phone tab sets Inbound Only, Outbound Only or both, plus Call Recording, SMS, Voicemail and working hours. Keep text replies shorter than spoken ones. The Call Center tab calls out from a CSV of leads. Make a few test calls before you share the number.
When the voice and the first line sound right, publish it.
